BROOKLAND, AR — (BrooklandNews.com) — May 19, 2025 — The Brookland Police Department will participate in the “click it or ticket” campaign for the first time.

From May 19 to June 1, the Brookland Police Department will be teaming up with the Arkansas Highway Office to increase the number of officers to enforce existing laws.

This will be the first time the Brookland Police Department has participated in the campaign. Officers, day and night, will be looking for violators of the Arkansas Seat Belt/Child Restraint Law.

“Brookland Officers work a dangerous stretch of highway between Jonesboro and Paragould and would like to remind everyone to please buckle up. It could save your life,” a post on the city’s website says.

The move comes after the City of Brookland received a grant, which will reimburse the city for officer overtime that is worked for campaigns to bring awareness and enforcement to traffic laws that can reduce the rise of personal injury or death on the street.
