JONESBORO, AR — (BroooklandNews.com) — May 3, 2025 — Circuit Court Judge Doug Brimhall is fighting to remove his name from the Arkansas child abuse registry.
On May 1, attorneys for Brimhall filed documents against the Arkansas Department of Human Services Office of Appeals and Hearings’ choice to place him on the Child Maltreatment Central Registry.
The fight comes after a disturbance in Sage Meadows, in May of 2024, that led to his arrest for aggravated assault on a family or household member. In court, Brimhall later pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of harassment.
The suit called the choice “arbitrary and capricious and not based on applicable Arkansas law.”
