Brookland, AR – (BrooklandNews.com) – Feb. 19, 2025 – Residents of Brookland woke up to snowfall Wednesday morning, though totals varied from initial forecasts.

Snow began falling late Tuesday night, leaving up to three inches on the ground. Forecasts had predicted higher amounts, but a cold air draft created a gap in the snowfall, keeping Brookland’s totals lower than areas to the north and south.

Road conditions vary across the city. Heavily traveled streets, such as School Street and Bernis Street, are mostly clear, while less-traveled roads remain covered in snow, with some areas experiencing ice.

The snow isn’t the main concern, as an arctic blast is now gripping the area. Wind chills are expected to drop into negative temperatures, with frigid conditions lasting through the weekend.
