LITTLE ROCK, AR  — (BrooklandNews.com) — Apr. 17, 2026 — Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee-Sanders announced over two dozen appointments to state boards, including several from Jonesboro.

Steve Tricarico, Jason Wallace, and Shane Speights, all Jonesboro natives, were appointed Thursday.

Tricarico was named to the Arkansas Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics Advisory Board. His term expires September 1, 2026. He replaces Gregory Armstrong.

Wallace was appointed to a previously vacant position on the State Board of Nursing. His term is set to expire October 1, 2026.

Speights was also appointed to a vacant position on the State Board of Health. His term will expire December 31, 2028.

Speights currently serves as dean of the NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine at Arkansas State University. He is a board-certified family medicine physician and serves as the county health officer for Craighead County. He also played a key role in establishing NYITCOM at A-State, the second medical school in Arkansas, aimed at improving healthcare access in underserved areas.
