BROOKLAND, AR — (BrooklandNews.com) — Feb. 17, 2026 — Early voting began Tuesday in Craighead County for the March 3 Arkansas preferential primary and nonpartisan election. Voters in Brookland and across the county can cast ballots ahead of Election Day at two early voting sites in Jonesboro and Lake City.
Early voting is open at the Craighead County Election Annex, 315 W. Jefferson Ave. in Jonesboro, and the Lake City Courthouse Eastern Annex, 113 Cobean St. in Lake City. Polls are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, and close at 5 p.m. on March 2, the final day of early voting.
The March 3 election includes party primary races and nonpartisan contests held on the same ballot. Voters will choose nominees for federal, state, and local offices, along with judicial candidates and school board races.
Statewide races on the ballot include contests for U.S. Senate, governor, and other constitutional offices. Judicial races for the Arkansas Supreme Court and Court of Appeals are also being decided. Local races include state legislative seats, county offices, and local school board positions.
Election Day is March 3, with polling centers open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Craighead County voters can vote at any polling location on Election Day.
County officials remind voters to bring a photo ID and verify their registration status before voting. Early voting runs through March 2.
