BPD participates in ‘Speeding Slows You Down’ campaign

BROOKLAND, AR — (BrooklandNews.com) — July 21, 2025 — The Brookland Police Department has begun its participation in a new campaign.

The Brookland Police Department has begun conducting “high-visibility patrols” through July 31 to capture those who speed, according to the city’s website.

“As part of the high-visibility enforcement campaign, ‘Speeding Slows You Down’, the Arkansas Highway Safety Office along with Arkansas law enforcement and the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, reminds everyone that speeding has life threatening consequences and to obey speed limits,” a release on the City of Brookland’s website says.

The patrols began on July 9 and will continue until July 31, issuing citations to speeding drivers.
