JONESBORO, AR — (BrooklandNews.com) — July 15, 2025 — A Jonesboro woman was arrested after police said she stole over $1,000 worth of product from Ulta Beauty in Jonesboro.
The affidavit says Amy Ciepiela, 52, of Jonesboro, walked into Ulta Beauty on Friday, July 11, and shopped for nearly two hours, putting items in an Ulta Beauty bag and a personal bag. It also states Ciepiela continuously watched associates at the front of the store before, “she then walked out of the store with the Ulta bag full of unpaid merchandise, walked to her vehicle, took her license plate off and drove away.”
Associates were able to describe the vehicle to police, and “with the help of intersection cameras and Flock LPRs, officers were able to get the tag,” the affidavit states.
Officers would identify the suspect at Amy Beth Ciepiela, who would be booked into the Craighead County Detention Center on Sunday, July 14, with charges of theft less than $5,000 but more than $1,000, a Class D felony.
In a court proceeding, Ciepiela invoked her right to have a public defender present, meaning she will remain incarcerated until one is appointed to represent her.
