BROOKLAND, AR — (BrooklandNews.com) — July 16, 2025 — Brookland Public Schools (BPS) announced Tuesday that it has picked its new assistant superintendent.

In a social media post, the school announced that Chris Moss had been selected to serve as the district’s assistant superintendent.

The post said, “Mr Moss began his career in education with Marion Public Schools and has spent the last 11 years serving the Nettleton School District in a variety of roles, including high school teacher, coach, Dean of Students, and most recently, as Principal of Nettleton Junior High.”

“I am passionate about student-focused leadership and believe every decision in education should be made through the lens of what is best for kids,” Moss said. “I’m excited to join Superintendent Kennedy and the outstanding administrators, faculty, and staff of Brookland. I can’t wait to meet the students, families, and community that make up the Bearcat family!”

Moss has a bachelor’s, master’s, and Ed. specialist degree from Arkansas State University, and he is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Change Leadership from the University of Central Arkansas.

BPS recently began interviewing candidates for the role on July 9, following Brett Bunch’s exit from his position and then-Assistant Superintendent George Kennedy’s acceptance of the promotion to superintendent.
