BROOKLAND, AR — (BrooklandNews.com) — June 11, 2025 — The Brookland Police Department (BPD) arrested a man following an alleged dispute that began at work and led to a fight at home.

Court documents state that on June 9, 2025 before 12 a.m. officers of the BPD responded to a domestic disturbance call at the 100 block of Cardinal Street.

Upon arrival, court documents state the victim claimed that her boyfriend, Pastcanell Jackson, had choked her, slammed her against a wall, threw her to the floor and blocked her attempts to leave, all while making threatening remarks. He also threw her phone to prevent her from calling for help.

The mother of the victim, who arrived at the scene later, said that what occurred matched the ongoing pattern of abuse, according to the affidavit.

Documents indicate that the argument started during work hours and escalated upon arrival home.

Pascanell Nico Jackson was arrested and charged with aggravated assault (Class D Felony), interference with emergency communication and kidnapping (Class C Felony). Jackson was given a $150,000 cash/surety bond.

Jackson is set to appear in court on July 31 at 8:30 a.m.
