JONESBORO, AR — (BrooklandNews.com) — June 8, 2025 — The Jonesboro Police Department arrested a woman following a dispute that occurred in late May.

Court documents show that on May 22, 2025, Tracy Kelso threatened a woman with a knife. Kelso was the live-in caregiver for the woman’s mother.

A dispute arose after a representative from a local car dealer visited a home at the 3700 block of Fielder Drive in Jonesboro to collect an overdue payment. The victim allowed the representative into the house and informed Kelso of their presence. Kelso exited the room and exclaimed, “It’s hard to pay your car payment when you can’t even get a paycheck,” to which the victim responded, “Tracy, you have to work to get paid,” as per the affidavit.

The affidavit further details Kelso’s actions. She went to the kitchen, obtained a knife, and pinned the victim against the wall, placing the knife against her throat. Later, the car dealer took the knife away.

Then, the victim contacted 911, and Kelso fled the scene, as per the document.

It is noted that both the car dealer representative and the victim provided similar accounts of the incident.

Tracy Diane Kelso was booked into the Craighead County Detention Center for aggravated assault (Class D Felony), and was given a 15,000 cash/surety bond. Kelso is set to appear in court on June 31 at 8:30 a.m.
