Brookland, AR — Brookland Public Schools initiated a soft lockdown on Wednesday following a reported threat.

According to Brookland Public Schools, students are safe after a threat was made by someome from the Pocahontas School District.

A source familiar with the situation told Brookland News that a School Resource Officer (SRO) from Pocahontas communicated with a Brookland SRO, prompting the lockdown.

“It was a threat from another school and that person is in custody. At no time were students or staff in danger. It is an ongoing investigation…”

BN has requested clarification as to if it was a student for the Pocahontas School District.
