Butler County, PA– New body cam video reveals the moments before and after an assassin attempted to assassinate Former President Donald Trump.
After weeks of questions and limited answers, the Butler Township Police Department is releasing video from their officers’ point-of-view.
The release comes as both the United States Secret Service and Butler Township PD has thrown fault on each other, until a recent hearing where the acting USSS Director Ronald Rowe claimed fault.
The video shows the moment a BTPD officer raised up on the roof – where at the time a suspicious person was – the officer spotting a male, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks on the roof with a firearm.
Reports suggest when the officer was lifted on the roof that Crooks pointed his AR-15 at the officer – that information can’t be confirmed through the body-cam video.
Notably, BTPD never attempted to contact Secret Service – and it is Brookland News’ reporting that there radios did not have the capability to do so, but BTPD was said to have offered the Secret Service radios that connected to Butler Township PD communications.
Now, as the investigation continues into what went wrong, people are waiting for action to be taken.
