ASP Crash Summary reveals what occurred in a Train v. Vehicle, victim identified

Brookland, AR– This afternoon (7/19/2024), a train collided with a vehicle and the Arkansas State Police Crash Summary reveals what exactly occured.

Soon after the one-o’clock-hour the Brookland Police Department, Craighead County Sheriff’s office and the Arkansas State Police responded to an accident involving a vehicle and a train at the intersection of Highway 49 and County Road 928 near Bush Agri.

The Arkansas State Police Crash Summary states that a 2002 Chevrolet was stopped at the crossing with the crossing arms down, lights flashing and bells ringing as a train approached. The vehicle attempted to move around the arms and the vehicle(s) in front of it when a train collided with the vehicle, killing Larry Cox, 34, of Bay.
