Anthony Coy, Director of the Craighead County Emergency Management told Brookland News, “much like emergency management, when the weather is going on. You know… were in the emergency operations center, the only eyes we have to the outside are from video cameras, and with the National Weather Service being in Memphis, and they coverage such a large area. They need eyes everywhere, and these Weather Safety Seminars, It’s not to train people how to be a storm chaser… they don’t need that.
The Northeast Arkansas Radio Club, the sponsor of today’s event had a booth set up encouraging those to join the club made for HAM Radio Operators.
Director Coy also urged others to have multiple ways of receiving weather information, and know where your safe spot is.
