Latest update on Whitten Creek Apt. structure fire | Jackson Mitchell

Brookland, AR– A fire occurred Friday morning at the Whitten Creek Apartments.

The Brookland Fire Dept., Southern Greene County Fire Dept., Philadelphia Fire Dept., and the Jonesboro Fire Dept. were all dispatched to the 100 block of McNatt Road at around 9 a. m.

According to KAIT-TV it took 12 fire trucks and 42 firefighters to fight the flames.

There was one pet fatality, and one pet save. Fortunately there were no human fatalities.

The fire damaged 8/16 apartments in the 300 building.

There is still no word on what may have led to the fire.

Power had been cut off to the complex for the duration of the fire.

Brookland Baptist Church, Connection Point Church, and Woods Chapel Church have been opened to anyone who needs a shelter.

Mr. Jim’s Pizza did offer pizza to those families displaced in the fire.

Jordan’s in Brookland are offering lunch for families affected on Jan. 22.

Red Cross volunteers have also been dispatched to the area.

Comfort Inn and Hampton Inn in Jonesboro have both offered rooms for those families displaced, with proof.
