Jonesboro, AR- Project Connect NEA has been in the agenda for a while, and waiting for grants has been a long time coming, but Jonesboro was not selected for a grant needed to complete the project.

The City of Jonesboro did not receive a grant that would be needed to complete the trails that would connect Paragould to Jonesboro.

Josh Agee, Mayor of Paragould told Brookland News in February where he called the project a “high-altitude view.”

It’s been 7 months since then and it’s just been waiting for grants.

The project is now at an official pause as Jonesboro didn’t receive the RAISE grant, the city says they will continue to apply, and will keep their hopes up.

Brookland News has reached out to Paragould Mayor Josh Agee and Jonesboro Mayor Harold Copenhavor, but have received no immediate response.
