Washington- A U-Haul truck crashed in to White House security barriers just before 10 p.m. Monday night.
U. S. Park Police arrested 19 year-old Sai Varshith Kandula of Chesterfield, Missouri.
The crash was purposeful, as you can see in this video Kandula backed up, then rammed the security gate in Lafayette Square, just one block from the White House.
U.S. Park Service police said the driver was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon; reckless operation of a motor vehicle; threatening to kill, kidnap or inflict harm on a president, vice president or family member; destruction of federal property and trespassing.
A bomb finding device was used, but no bomb or bomb-like device was found.
When police searched the vehicle they found a Nazi flag.
CBS News reports the man was making threatening statements towards the President and Vice President.
The Secret Service and FBI are investigating this crash.
Neither the President or his family were ever in harms way.
The suspect is required to remain in custody until his next hearing.
