Brookland, AR- Men’s healthcare is a priority, but sometimes men can be careless, when it comes to thier metal health.
June is recognized as Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month.
Did you know that the highest suicide rate is among Caucasian men over the age of 85.
Male suicides have been on the rise since 2000 and it’s the 7th leading cause of death among males, or 2.2% of all male deaths in 2011.
Factors that could lead to thinking or committing suicide include social isolation, like what we experienced during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Factors also include substance abuse, un-employment, trauma, mood disorders.

Did you know that gay or bisexual men are more likely to have higher rates of substance abuse more than heterosexual men.
