Brookland, AR- Thursday, May 11 marks the last day of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency.
“Thanks to the Biden-Harris Administration’s whole-of-government approach to combating COVID-19, our country is in a better place than at any point during the pandemic,” HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra said in a statement.
As cases of the virus cool down from their peak in early 2020, the CDC is removing the team working on COVID-19 cases and studying, and shifting them to new jobs.
Meaning you will no longer get a report of cases, and rather receive a report of the number of hospital cases.
Which means the coverage of the virus is limited, and there will no longer be a need to claim this as a public health emergency.
