Allen, TX- A shooter in Allen, TX kills 8 people, injuring at least 7 more people, in an outlet mall. This shooting one of the latest mass shootings America has experienced.
The shooter yet to be identified, explained to have open his car door and immediately begin shooting, being killed later by a nearby police.
Local police responded to the shooting just after 3:30 p.m. at Allen Premium Outlets north of Plano, an outdoor shopping center with restaurants and clothing stores.
In those injured their ages range from 5-61, The New York Times reports.
“I pray it wasn’t kids, but it looked like kids,” the witness, 35-year-old Fontayne Payton, told the AP.
Texas Governor, Gregg Abbot released a statement saying he was in contact with authorities and that Allen has “the full support of the State of Texas.”
The mass shooting comes just one week before the anniversary of the Robb Elementary school shooting, where 19 students and two teachers were killed.
This is the 242 mass shooting this year, as action is demanded, is it a mental health issue, or is it guns. Lawmakers are pushing for change, the bills just aren’t making it, to the president for him to sign.
The president was briefed on the matter, offering support to local officials. Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, for this “unspeakable tragedy.”
One shopper explains they was in H&M when they all heard gunshots, the shopper explained he was taken in to a room that locks.
A photo obtained by CNN shows what appears to be the gunman lying on the ground after being shot, with an AR-15-style firearm nearby. He is clad in black body armor and appears to have several extra magazines strapped in his chest gear.
Authorities say the shooter acted alone, as they try an d find a motive.
