Brookland, AR- Since this summer when gas prices reached an all time high of 2022, the new year has started with substantially lower prices.
While gas prices have risen over the past years, the Ark-La-Tex has always kept its lower than than the average price.
Right now the current national average is $3.41 with Arkansas’s average being below that at $3.09.
Even with OPEC and OPEC+ whom supplies 27.3% of oil overall to the United States cutting production, the White House tweeted that gas is down more than $1.70 from its peak on January 14th.
The main gas supply isn’t OPEC or OPEC+ which helped in keeping gas prices down, as American gets most of their oil from Canada, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and Colombia,
