Brookland, AR- Days after a winter storm sweeps trough America and people try and get home from there holiday travels.

Southwest Airlines decided it would cancel more than 90% of its flights, leaving luggage just sitting in airports. Just Wednesday and Thursday cancelling over 4,800 flights.

One tweet from an Arkansas woman saying “We drove back on Christmas Eve/Christmas day from Orlando after our flight was cancelled. We Orlando around Midnight on Christmas Eve. We may get our luggage back in a month.

A frustrated traveler told NBC News “I’m definitely never flying Southwest again.”

The blame by some Southwest Airlines employees being put on an old system they use, that’s outdated for their passenger level.

Now CEO of Southwest Airlines, Bob Jordan is speaking out in a message apologizing for the awful travel experience. In summary saying were doing our best, and that there sorry.

Flights are expected to be back to normal by Friday.

The transportation secretary, Pete Buttigieg getting involved saying “This has crossed the line from what’s an uncontrollable weather situation to something that’s the airlines direct responsibility.”

He and his team said they are working to decide rather the passengers are entitled to reimbursements for food and hotel, while they were stranded in the airport.
