Winter weather has officially arrived now, already hitting the central and south U.S. leaving cold temps behind the snow. All of Eastern South Dakota is covered in Blizzard warnings, as the South is left in Wind Chill advisories.

Now in the Northeast barreling winds and snow hit Chicago and flooding New York and areas around it.

All traveling at a significant slowdown wreck after wreck, multiple with deaths and severe injuries.

One in Ohio involving 50+ cars multiple deaths were reported. As well as one in Kansas City, Missouri leaving first responders searching in an icy creek, after a vehicle slid off the road into the water.

We’re told that people are requesting Ubers and then getting involved in crashes due to some “inexperienced” drivers. If you don’t have to get out then stay warm and indoors.

Plane travel is also being affected, already delays, early Friday FedEx Memphis stopped all planes due to inclement weather, now back up and going to deliver your LAST-minute holiday packages.

A mega lake effect in the Upper Midwest could be seen as on the Toledo, Ohio side they could see a loss in water, whereas the Buffalo side could see a large gain in water.

The wind and the cold weather caused and are causing power grid damage, with some without power in blizzard conditions in all of the Northeast and parts of the deep south, Virginia and North Carolina getting their grid hit the worst.

1.5 Million were reported without power just Friday, but the storm is not over for the northeast. The storm is being named a “Ounce in a Generation” storm.

Over 12 governors declared a state of emergency as half of the lower 48 states were subject to powerful and dangerous winds.

When it comes to the cold and inside your homes, here is what you are being asked. Be as safe as possible with space heaters, keeping them at least 3 feet away from anything flammable. Take your hose off the outside water faucet, and open cabinets for pipes inside the get the warm air in so they don’t freeze.

Plumbers say they can’t do anything about a frozen pipe except wait until thawed.
