Road conditions are fair amid round two of storm

As round two of the winter storm approaches, road conditions remain fair.

Brookland News crews observed Saturday afternoon that neighborhood roads and less-traveled streets in Brookland remain snow-covered, while major roadways — including Highway 49, Highway 49B, School Street and Holman Street — were mostly clear. Conditions could change as additional snowfall moves into the area.

Similar conditions were reported in Jonesboro, where well-traveled roads such as East Johnson Avenue, Caraway Road and Red Wolf Boulevard were largely clear, with at least one lane open in each direction.

Drivers are urged to slow down, allow extra travel time, and leave ample distance between vehicles if travel is necessary.

Some meteorologists say snowfall totals could be similar to what fell today during round two.
