BROOKLAND, AR — (BrooklandNews.com) — Nov. 28, 2025 — Major retailers in Brookland and Jonesboro are preparing for heavy traffic as Black Friday sales commence both in physical stores and online, offering some of the most significant discounts of the holiday season.
Walmart, which will resume regular hours on Friday, is advertising substantial discounts available both online and in-store. Notable deals include a heating pad reduced from $69.99 to $17.99 and an all-in-one inkjet printer slashed from $53 to $29. Other promotions, such as a $157 outdoor griddle typically priced at $224, are also listed as available online.
Target’s Jonesboro store will open at 6 a.m. on Friday and close at 10 p.m. The retailer is offering up to 50 percent off select electronics, toys, and home goods through its holiday “Deal of the Day” program. Most of Target’s Black Friday prices are also available online, including discounts on headphones, streaming devices, and small kitchen appliances.
JCPenney, which opens at 5 a.m. and closes at 10 p.m., is promoting some of the steepest markdowns among major chains. A national analysis reveals that the retailer averages over 70 percent off across various categories, including apparel, appliances, and jewelry. While many of these deals are available online, some doorbusters are limited to in-store purchases.
Kohl’s, opening at 5 a.m. and closing at 11 p.m., is advertising an average discount of approximately 45 percent on clothing, bedding, cookware, and holiday décor. The retailer is also offering Kohl’s Cash during the Black Friday period. Most deals are available online, although in-store shoppers may discover additional clearance items.
Ulta Beauty will open at 6 a.m. and close at 9 p.m. on Friday, offering up to 50 percent off select cosmetics, haircare tools, and skincare sets. Ulta’s Black Friday pricing is being offered both in-store and online, including deals on fragrance gift sets and popular makeup brands.
Dillard’s has not yet unveiled its full 2025 Black Friday ad, but it’s anticipated to offer discounts on handbags, luggage, jewelry, and select apparel. Notably, most of Dillard’s Black Friday sales will remain exclusively in-store.
In Jonesboro, local boutiques are also gearing up for Black Friday, providing smaller-scale alternatives to the big-box retailers. Market Bliss, a vibrant venue featuring over 30 local vendors, will host a Black Friday event from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday at its Nettleton Avenue location. This event will feature discounts on clothing, decor, and gift items. Delta Darlings, a children’s and maternity boutique, will open its doors at 8 a.m. and will offer 20% off clothing during the first hour and 15% off the rest of the day. Many of their deals will also be available online.
Several other boutiques, including Threads Boutique on East Highland Drive, plan to operate their regular hours on Friday. They will also be offering holiday promotions both in-store and on their websites.
Nationwide, Black Friday discounts are averaging around 37% this year, with department stores experiencing some of the most significant reductions. Retailers across northeast Arkansas are anticipating a surge in foot traffic as more shoppers return to in-store browsing while still taking advantage of online sales.
