BROOKLAND, AR — (BrooklandNews.com) — June 21, 2025 — David Loggins resigned from his role on the Brookland City Council, and the role is already filled.

In a June 10, 2025 city council meeting, Mayor Kenneth Jones read aloud a resignation letter from Loggins announcing the resignation, which the council approved.

Loggins’s resignation went into effect on May 31.

The meeting minutes also show that Lachelle Sipes was approved by the council to fill the role until the end of the term.

Sipes, who is currently serving on the planning commission, will now represent Brookland’s third ward.

Loggins has served on the council since his 2020 defeat of Martin Crain, who now also serves as a member of the planning commission.
