Washington – (BrooklandNews.com) – Apr. 2, 2025 – Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee’s nomination as U.S. ambassador to Israel was approved by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Huckabee, the father of Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, served as Arkansas’s 44th governor and has been a longtime ally of former President Donald Trump.
The committee also approved Ron Johnson’s nomination as U.S. ambassador to Mexico and Kevin Cabrera’s nomination as U.S. ambassador to Panama.
“With the passage of these three qualified nominees, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee has now approved the nomination of 10 of President Trump’s national security nominees,” Sen. Jim Risch, R-Idaho, said. “We will do all we can to keep up this quick pace to ensure President Trump and Secretary Rubio have the support they need. I urge my colleagues to confirm these qualified nominees when they come to the Senate floor.”
Huckabee has visited Israel multiple times and has led several tours of the country. It is unclear when Huckabee’s nomination will take a vote in front of the entire Senate.
