West Palm Beach, FL — President-elect Donald Trump nominated Linda McMahon to be Education Secretary.

McMahon has been a longtime friend to the President-elect and currently serves as the transition co-chair.

President-elect Donald Trump praised McMahon on Truth Social saying, “For the past four years, as the Chair of the Board at the America First Policy Institute, Linda has been a fierce advocate for Parents’ Rights, working hard at both AFPI and America First Works to achieve Universal School Choice in 12 States, giving children the opportunity to receive an excellent Education, regardless of zip code or income.”

Linda served for two years on the Connecticut Board of Education, where she was one of fifteen members overseeing all Public Education in the State, including its Technical High School system. She also served as a Member of the Board of Trustees at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, for two stints totaling over 16 years.

Sources tell Brookland News that her nomination comes after Howard Lutnick was appointed as commerce secretary, the role she was reportedly hoping to be appointed to.

The Department of Education, which if appointed, McMullen will lead is a Department that Trump has vowed to remove.

McMahon would need Senate confirmation to become Education Secretary.

Senate confirmation is something that has been put at question with many of President-elect Donald Trump‘s appointments being titled controversial.
