Brookland, AR– Across America citizens will be traveling, setting off fireworks and watching fireworks as they celebrate Independence Day.

Millions are heading out through the air and on the road this fourth.
According to AAA, more than 60 million Americans will take to the road this Independence Day holiday.
INRIX says that the best times to travel on the road are before noon on July 3rd and 4th, when heading home on the 5th and 6th it’s best to get out before 10:00 a. m.

More than 5 million are projected to hit the skies. Delays can be expected on July 3rd, not the fourth, but the following days.
The fourth is expected to be the least busiest day as most have already traveled to their destination.
Safety First
Safety also a top priority as millions set off fireworks.
Here’s five tips:
- Never give fireworks, even sparklers, to young children.
- Make sure fireworks are legal in your area, and only purchase and set off fireworks that are labeled for consumer use.
- Never use fireworks while impaired by alcohol or drugs.
- Keep a bucket of water or a garden hose handy, in case of fire or other mishap.
- Light fireworks one at a time, then move back quickly.
When can I shoot fireworks in Brookland?
As you shoot fireworks, it’s important to know when you can.
City of Brookland ordinance 2006-1 says you can shoot fireworks on July 3rd from 10:00 a. m. – 10:00 p. m. and on the 4th from 10:00 a. m. – 12:30 a. m. the following day.
Those found in violation of the ordnance are subject to a fine no less hat $25.00 and no more than $100.00.
