Brookland, AR– Wednesday afternoon, a chase led to a crash after a man pulled a gun on a woman at IHOP in Jonesboro.

The Jonesboro Police Department was dispatched to a crash on Highway 49, at the intersection of Craighead County 792 Road near Brookland at 12:23 p. m. on May 29th, 2024.

That came after dispatch call logs state a male pulled a gun on a woman in the IHOP parking lot.

The victim was able to get the gun of the males hand and ran to the back of the restaurant to hide.

The suspect, driving a red Dodge Challenger, fled the scene. That’s when, a BOLO or Be on the Lookout was place for the vehicle and soon later a Craighead County Deputy spotted the vehicle.

Brookland News heard the accident all on radio, the deputy then attempted to stop the vehicle when the suspect fled, eventually crashing on Highway 49.
