Brookland, AR– Every other Thursday, The Election Edge with Jackson Mitchell airs on Brookland News breaking down the weeks top political headlines.

The Election Edge starts right now

It is Thursday at 4 p. m. and that means it’s time for the election edge, good afternoon, we’ve got a lot to break down in your top political headlines. Which is what this show is for. We are going to start with some breaking news from Rep. Lauren Boebert after her campaign said the Colorado lawmaker went to the hospital after experiencing “severe swelling in her upper left leg,”

We later learned that was a blood clot, doctors say she is expected to be okay, and diagnosed the lawmaker with May-Thurner syndrome.

Boebert said [quote] “I’m looking forward to making a full recovery and getting back to Congress to continue fighting for Colorado,” in a statement released by her campaign. Last week, the Biden campaign held a fundraising event with both Former President Obama and Clinton,

and raised over $25 million- dollars. Now, this was a closed press event, so the only images and video we have is from the Biden Campaign.  Take a look at a few videos from the event, that were released.

Now there were pro-palestenian protesters outside and some inside, in which we do not have video of, but have seen reporting of those inside.

In this show, you won’t be just at the trust of my reporting of interviews that you see on air, but at the trust at other news sources, such as Politico which is where we are going next. Take a look, this story from Politico titled House GOP looks beyond impeachment for new Biden targets, the story states

“Their impeachment inquiry of President Joe Biden is fizzling. And now, House Republicans are setting their sights on a wide range of new oversight targets, hoping that one might help them trip up the president in the middle of an election year. The search for a fresh line of attack has had a scattershot feel to it, including what Republicans say is the administration’s failure to aggressively combat the Chinese Communist Party; the origins of Covid-19; the approach to liquified natural gas exports and the Strategic Petroleum Reserve; and whether the administration sidestepped the Senate confirmation process in naming John Podesta the new climate envoy. All told, House Republican Committee chairs sent nearly 50 oversight requests from several different committees to a variety of agencies, from the Justice to the Energy department, in the last month, according to a person familiar with the requests who was granted anonymity to discuss them.” I know that was quite long, but I found it interesting as democrats and few republicans have said within the last 16 months of the investigation, they have still not found any evidence to impeach the president.

A new poll from the Associated Press and the NORC shows that U. S. adults still agree on basic rights.

The Poll shows that 91% of people believe in the right to vote and equal protection, and that 88% of adults believe in the right to privacy. And 84% of U. S. Adults agree on freedom of religion.

Now, most of those rights were established many years back, but at least we know U. S. adults can agree on something. Alright, we are two-hundred fifteen days away until November 5th, or the General Election and that is why for now, the Election Edge will air every- other week until we get about 100 days away, as we are going to focus in on the General Election. Thanks for watching and I hope to see you all this Saturday for Brookland’s Fastest Morning Newscast. Thanks for watching The Election Edge, with myself, Jackson Mitchell. Have a wonderful evening.
