Brookland, AR- The monthly report released by the U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, shows unemployment is Arkansas is at an all time low.
In December of 2022 the unemployment rate was 3.4, now as of May it’s 2.7, that’s a 0.7 difference.
That is as the unemployment rate continues to trickle down following an all time high of 10.1, following the COVID-19 Pandemic.
With that, the employment rate is growing, and this is the eighth consecutive month of employment gains in the Natural State. Compared to May 2022, there are 16,675 more people employed.
From April of 2019 to April of 2020, nearly 90,000 jobs were lost in Arkansas, during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Arkansas finally recovering as it’s no longer a public health emergency.
