Brookland, AR- A retirement leaves a spot open on the Brookland City Council.
Mike Bishop who held the position of Ward 1, Position 1 announced his retirement Monday.
Candice Bishob, daughter of Mike has decided she will be taking over the position.
She told me in an interview that “taking over for my dad is been a huge thing I’ve wanted to do for many many years.”
Mike Bishop would not be leaving the city, but just retiring from his seat as city council member.
Mike will become the new city engineer.
Candice also told me that the city is growing and she can’t wait to see what the future holds.
