LITTLE ROCK, AR — (BrooklandNews.com) — Mar. 26, 2026 — The Democratic Party of Arkansas announced that Vice President Kamala Harris will deliver the keynote address at its 2026 Fisher Shackelford Dinner.

The event is set for April 25 at the Wally Allen Ballroom inside the Little Rock Convention Center.

Party leaders called the announcement a major moment for Arkansas Democrats, noting it will be Harris’s first keynote address following the 2024 election.

Arkansas Democrats Vice Chair Jannie Cotton said the visit marks a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” for the state.

“We are so honored,” Cotton said in a statement. “I could not be more grateful that Vice President Harris chose Arkansas for her first keynote speech following the 2024 election.”

Harris, the 49th vice president, made history as the first woman to hold the office. During her tenure, she cast a record number of tie-breaking votes in the Senate and worked on issues including economic policy, global alliances, health care, and public safety.

Organizers said the Fisher Shackelford Dinner will also honor several Arkansas Democrats, including Debrah Mitchell, Tippi McCullough, and Addie Jones.

The annual dinner serves as a major fundraising and organizing event for the state party, drawing elected officials, activists, and supporters from across Arkansas.

Party officials expect strong turnout for what they describe as a historic evening in Little Rock.
